A New Online Source for Leathercraft Enthusiasts.
LeathercraftLibrary.com features videos, eBooks, patterns, blog,
projects, class schedules, free patterns and more.
Fort Worth, TX. July 14, 2011: Tandy Leather Factory announced this week the launch of a new leathercraft website, Leathercraft Library (http://www.leathercraftlibrary.com), a place for leathercraft enthusiasts worldwide to have access, in downloadable PDF format, to Tandy Leather’s archive of patterns, books, projects, free patterns, tutorials, and much more. “Leathercraft Library has a little something for everyone,” says Charlie Davenport Research & Development Manager. “Whether you are looking for clothing, accessories, home decor items, handbags, or just love leathercraft, you’ll find this to be a great place for inspiration, project ideas, patterns, and tutorials to make you a better leather crafter. This is just the beginning of the exciting things in store for the leathercraft community. We hope leathercrafters will have fun, and stay tuned … there’s a lot more coming their way.” Leathercrafters will also be able to subscribe to a growing collection of premium instructional videos from master leather artists such as George Hurst, Jim Linnell, Tony Laier and Charlie Davenport. Video categories include: Basic Leathercraft, Stamping, Coloring, Figure & Pictorial Carving, Lacing, Stitching, Advanced Carving Techniques and more. New videos will be added regularly.
Features on the new website include:
Premium Instructional Videos: Over 100 videos are currently available by subscription.
eBooks: Current and out-of-print leathercraft books.
Vintage Doodle Pages: Over 500 Doodle Pages, some originally published in the 1950’s.
Pattern Packs: Over 40 vintage and current pattern packs available.
Out-of-Production Kit Patterns: Patterns for kits that Tandy Leather no longer carries in their stores.
Free Projects and Patterns Library: New free projects and patterns will be added regularly.
Blog: The blog is the home for new projects, tips and techniques, our stores’ leathercraft class schedules, galleries, polls, and more.
“One of our most requested items are patterns from kits that we no longer carry. The launch of LeathercraftLibrary.com means we’ll be able to start offering patterns from our vast collection built up over the last 91 years of serving leathercrafters. Additionally, the Tandy Leather motto is “We teach the world leathercraft.” Our premium video subscription will allow us to conveniently teach leathercrafters when they might be too far away from our stores to take classes”, said Mark Angus, Senior Vice President of Tandy Leather Factory. “That’s why I’m so excited about our new website. Leathercrafters will have the opportunity to learn new techniques from the comfort of their own workshop!”
